An Introduction to Camp Inagehi

For over 50 years, Camp Inagehi has provided a Christian camping experience for thousands of children from all over Georgia and the surrounding area. Camp Inagehi is located on approximately 33 acres in Douglasville, Ga, about 20 minutes west of Atlanta. The property includes a beautiful lake, two villages, athletic facilities, a swimming pool, a covered pavilion, a dining hall and many trails winding through acres and acres of secluded woods.

Camp Inagehi was founded as a place where boys and girls could go to learn about God in the midst of His creation while having fun in a Christian environment. The camp has been in existence since 1954, when it was called "Atlanta Bible Camp." The camp is now named "Inagehi," which means "dwelling in the wilderness." The camp is owned and operated by Atlanta Bible Camp, Inc. consisting of members of area churches of Christ. Campers are accepted regardless of race, creed or religious affiliations.

Camp Inagehi currently offers four great weeks of camp for all youth ages 9 to 18. The board of directors have also announced that beginning this year, the camp will hold a new day camp for all children ages 5 to 9. The camp serves approximately 500 campers every year and is hoping to expand the facilities to accommodate more campers and by adding additional weeks to the current schedule. The camp has planned several construction and renovation projects and is currently conducting a fundraising campaign in order to carry out the building plans.

Camp Inagehi is a non-profit organization funded entirely by camp fees and donations from individuals, businesses and churches who are interested in Christian camping. The camp is currently constructing a nurse's station and has several other major renovations that will be necessary in the near future. Volunteers, donations of materials and financial contributions are always gladly accepted.
